Our Team

Deborah McBurney graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University in 1989 and qualified as a solicitor in 1993, Since she qualified she has practiced in family law in Pontefract. She is a member of the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s Children Panel and specialises in all aspects of family law including public law children cases.

Gordon Wright graduated from Leeds University in 1982 and qualified as a solicitor in 1986. Mr Wright has practised in Pontefract for over 20 years. He undertakes all Property and Wills & Probate matters. Gordon specialises in all aspects of family law. Gordon is also an experienced property lawyer.

Kye graduated from Leeds University of Law in 2021 and after graduating completed his training at Wright & Co. Kye qualified as a Solicitor in September 2023. Kye deals with all aspects of children mattes including contact/residence and public law children cases. He also deals with divorce and other related matters including finance and also wills and Probate matters.

Lauren has worked at Wright & Co since 2009. After many years working alongside Mr Wright as a Conveyancing Assistant, she qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in June 2024 having completed her Diploma in Conveyancing Law and Practice. Lauren deals with all property matters including sale, purchase and transfer of equity in respect of Freehold and Leasehold properties.

Abigail stared work at Wright and Co in September 2024 as an Apprentice CILEX Paralegal. Abigail is learning all aspects of Law covered by Wright & Co but aspires to progress her career in the Conveyancing field. She also works on reception and will usually be your first point of contact with our office.

Mandy has worked at Wright & Co since 2003. She is secretary to both Gordon & Deborah.
